Tropical Meatballs

These sweet and savory bite-sized meatballs are just the right amount of fun you’re looking for in a dish. Your kids will surely love this recipe.



3 bundles Sapporo Vermicelli, fried

2-3 tbsp. Cooking oil
1 tbsp. Garlic, minced
1 pc Onion, quartered
2 small pcs Bell Peppers, diced
1 cup Mandarin Oranges, peeled
1 cup Pineapple Juice
1 cup Water
1 tbsp. Soy sauce
1 tsp. Chicken Powder
Cornstarch slurry
Salt, to taste
Pan fried meatballs

250 g Ground pork
250 g Ground beef
1 pc Egg
½ tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Pepper
1 tbsp. Cornstarch



  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Form into 1-1 ½ inch balls. Pan fry until browned. Set aside.


  1. Heat oil and stir fry garlic, onion and bell peppers. Add mandarin oranges, pineapple juice, water, soy sauce and chicken powder. Season with salt to taste.
  2. Bring to boil and thicken with cornstarch slurry.

Note: You may replace mandarin oranges with canned pineapples or canned lychees.
